"Sara made the entire process of comissioning this artwork so easy. She was professional and quick and I am OBSESSED with seeing my characters brought to life in such a gorgeous way! I didnāt think it was possible to fancy my MMC any more! Sara, you talented human!"
āI shared the artwork with my editor and she LOVES IT! She's actually asked whether her team might be able to use it to tease my book internally to their sales team, and potentially show it to bookshops as part of their preorder outreach.āĀ
"The characters came out great! And I'm so excited to use them, I'll definitely tag you and hopefully work with you again in the future! I can't say it enough, but they really came out beyond my expectations!"
"As writers, we spend years cooking these characters and using them as the recipients of our imagination. Seeing him means so much to me.āĀ
āI am seriously floored... They look exactly like how I pictured them!āĀ
"Right from the first glance, I fell in love with Sara's work. There's so much to admire: the minute details, the character quirks, the poses and the expressions she does. I am in awe of Viv's pose, her fierce stare, Ash's outfit, hair, smirk, their guns and omg the katana. The cyberpunk vibe came through so brilliantly and in such a neat manner. It's GORG. Intant bi panic."
"OMG SARA THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!"
"I canāt thank you enough for bringing my characters to life. I am so freaking excited to share this with the world and will absolutely be tagging you in all the posts I put up about it and singing your praises from every rooftop. Youāre incredible!!"

"This is the first time Iāve ever commissioned character art before and 10/10 would do it again. Sara was an absolute dream to work with. Not only did she take every single detail and bring it to life, but she was super affordable and freaky fast about it."

PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle accepted. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before work begins. The remaining 50% is due upon approval of the watermarked preview and before delivery of the final high-resolution artwork.
Before work begins, clients will complete detailed character profile(s) to ensure Sara has all of the information needed to accurately illustrate the requested character(s). Because this planning stage is comprehensive, Sara does not provide preliminary sketch approval rounds. This helps avoid rework and keeps commission prices affordable for everyone.
A watermarked preview of the completed artwork will be provided before final delivery. At that stage, clients may request one round of minor revisions (such as small adjustments to colors, facial expressions, or details that differ from the approved character profile).
Requests for major revisions (including changes to pose, composition, clothing, hairstyle, or other design elements) are not included once work has begun unless the artwork does not reasonably reflect the approved commission brief or Sara has clearly misunderstood the provided instructions. New information or design changes introduced after work has begun may require an additional fee or a new commission.
Preliminary sketches, layer screenshots, and rendering timelapse videos are available upon request after delivery of the final artwork.
Sara is not currently accepting explicit ("NSFW") commissions. This includes sexual content, nudity, or explicit gore.
Standard commission pricing includes a non-exclusive license to use the artwork to promote the client's writing and published works (e.g., social media, websites, newsletters, promotional bookmarks, and other marketing materials). Copyright to the artwork remains with the artist.
Standard commission pricing does not include the right to sell the artwork itself or reproduce it on products where the artwork is the primary value (such as art prints, apparel, stickers, posters, or other merchandise) without a commercial license.
Commercial licensing is available for a 50% surcharge on the standard commission price.
Commissions are currently closed as of August 2026.
Sara reserves discounted commission slots for authors from backgrounds that are underrepresented in publishing. If you feel this applies to you, please mention it when booking, and it will be honored, no questions asked.
Below is a summary of Sara's art process. All work is sketched and rendered in the Procreate app on an Apple iPad A16 using an Apple Pencil.
A rough sketch is created using the Flynn marker brush in Procreate at various sizes.
The rough sketch layer is set to half transparency and used as a guide to create detailed line art using the Jaeger brush in Procreate on the smallest size.
The underlying sketch layer is unselected. Flats or base colors are added using the clipping mask tool with the line art set as a reference layer.
Highlights, shadows, skin undertones, fabric textures, and other details are added layer by layer using various brushes, including default brushes and brush packs made by a few other creators.
